Meadow Farm Bed and Breakfast Northwood NH

Enjoy the character of an authentic, historic 1770 New England Colonial in Northwood, New Hampshire with original paneling, hand hewn beams, and fireplaces. Meadow Farm Bed & Breakfast sits by a quiet country road with fifty acres of lovely fields and woods. A short walk down a country lane brings you to the farm's private waterfront on a pristine lake where guests may swim, canoe, and view the loons.

The house was originally built by Samuel Brown and remained in the same family for nearly two hundred years. The present owners, Doug and Janet, purchased and authentically restored the house, with attention to detail, over thirty years ago. The house is tastefully furnished throughout in period antiques that complement the 18th century era of the house. Sitting areas for guests include a large country kitchen with woodstove, a library room with TV and fireplace, a rustic screened porch furnished in twig furniture that overlooks the meadows and gardens, and an outdoor stone wall patio.

Enjoy a walk around Meadow Farm's extensive gardens. Roses are a specialty of your host, with over 75 roses grown, including many historic varieties. Guests may visit the farm's horses grazing in the pastures on the property. Riding instruction is available only to qualified dressage riders.

Frommers New England states: "this....B&B stands out from the crowd with its setting and friendliness. Area attractions such as Canterbury Shaker Village, New Hampshire International Speedway, Antique Alley, and the University of New Hampshire are located a short drive away.
